A few years ago the Qld Dept of Primary (DPI) Walkamin facility was running its highly successful Redclaw genetic breeding program under the guidance of Dr Clive Jones. Over successive generations great improvements were made in Redclaw growth rate’s and stock performances, which were scientifically documented by Dr Jones. Cherax Park was the major paying recipient of the stock released for sale in the 3rd and 4th generational releases and it’s this stock that has been incorporated into an ongoing and successful breeding program on farm.
